Presentation Eve Success!

Thank you to everyone in the Honey Badger community!  Kailee and Ryan just won one of the two top prizes in the Canadian Tire "Quest to Win" side challenge.

***To be clear, this is the side-challenge, not the Top Ad Exec finals***

The two prizes in the "Quest to Win" social media challenge were:

- Most Creative Strategy
- Value of Community Engagement

Team Honey Badger took it for the Most Creative Strategy!  Thank you for all of your help!  We could not have done it without you, and stay tuned for more updates as we gear up for our final presentation tomorrow!

Won the challenge, but Ryan lost his dare.

Kailee = Double winner.

And They Tell Two Friends...

So we here at good ol' team honey badger want to try a lil' experiment with social media...

Do you think it is possible to double, or potentially triple our Facebook "Likes" and Twitter followers in the next 24 hours?

We do.

And here is how...

a)  Speak to someone personally, just one person, that you haven't spoken to in a while, that you want to re-connect with, or even someone that you have NEVER met.  Use asking them to like our page (http://www.facebook.com/KaileeAndRyan) or follow our Twitter account (@KaileeRyanQ2W)  as a catalyst to have a make a personal connection, and have a brand spanking new friend in person!

(i.e. "Hi, sorry to bug you, do you mind if I ask you for a quick favour?  Could you like this page?  Thanks!  By the way, my name is Peter Parker... What's that?  You are so much like me and we should be BFFs?  OK!"

b)  Same thing, but over electronic devices, whether it's Smartphone text, BBM, Facebook chat, Twitter, ICQ,  MSN Messenger, robot carrier-pigeon.  EXCEPT, if you do it this way... you have to do it with TWO people!

Why do we want to do this?

Dramatic representation of what the world looks like when we don't relate to each other... YIKES!
Well, as we ingratiate ourselves, more and more, with electronic communication devices and platforms, the concern exists that:

a) Despite being more connected, we actually unknowingly limit our group of friends (some say to around 50 people), despite the fact that we "add" friends daily.  In other words the more we expand our connections, the more complacent we become in actually interacting with these people.

b) The more we use these devices, often the less we communicate and connect with each other personally.

So there you have it, friends and fans of Team Honey Badger, as we work our bums off for next Tuesday's presentation, help motivate us by proving the power people have to truly appreciate each other!

Epic Trilogy: What Did We Buy Episode 1

On a recent Canadian Tire excursion, looking for items that can help us survive the next three weeks, many, incredibly worthwhile items presented themselves as appealing options.  What follows in the next three blog posts, is the story of the items that were considered, the items that were actually purchased, and all the inappropriate in-store behaviours that occurred in-between.

What Did We Buy Episode 1 -  The Phantom (of) Tennis (leave it, couldn't find a word that rhymed with "Menace")

"This... AHAHAHA  is... AHAHAH a hold... HAHAHA up! AHAHAHA"

This is where "cool" goes to die.

"WHOOOOO... wants to go scare some pigeons?"

"No Gurlz Allowed!!!"

Stay tuned for the next two episodes!  Including the exciting climax of What Did We Buy!

Kailee vs. Ryan

As part of our "quest to win," and in connection to finding great Canadian Tire products that will help us survive the next two weeks, Kailee and Ryan have decided to hate each other... in DARE form!

That's right, in looking at products that would help in the next two weeks, but be a wee bit embarrassing, Ryan acknowledged that a miniature Bouncy Castle would be so much fun, and a great workout.  Meanwhile, Kailee recognized that a tandem bike would be SO convenient.

This turned into a challenge...  Vote in the poll located on Kailee and Ryan's facebook page (and be sure to like the page...http://www.facebook.com/KaileeAndRyan) to have either...

Kailee ride a tandem bike around campus (theoretically with Ryan... no promises)

Or...

Ryan play around in a Children's Bouncy Castle

Crawlin' Off a Little Steam

After team Honey Badger's Canadian Tire excursion last Friday evening, we ventured down to Hamilton's James Street North for the monthly James North Art Crawl!

Along the crawl was a stop in at the newly established and ridiculously stylish Baltimore House!

The 24,000 Minutes Begin

After an intense Ad Exec planning meeting, Team Honey Badger decided to blow off steam at their friendly neighbourhood Canadian Tire.

This yielded some initially interesting results...

Literally "yielded." New style, just in from France.  Fierce.
OMG... is that a floating head? Or is someone hiding behind shrubbery?  I cannot see a torso!
"...Some kid back in town, traded the van for it, straight up"
"...Still want to go to Aspen?"

Survival info... Smart.
In the end, realizing that among many other things, the next 24,000 minutes will be about survival, we decided to purchase the above book for the sake of keeping a keen insight into keeping our composure.

That... and Cadbury Mini-Eggs, 'cause they are straight-up delicious.
